Guided Walking Tour of Argostoli

After meeting at 10 am at Argostoli port, we'll begin our walking tour of the vibrant capital of Kefalonia. Ready to see the sights?

First, we'll stroll around the harbour and learn all about about the origins of the city while enjoying wonderful views of the Ionian Sea. From there, we'll walk to Panagis Vallianos Square, the most important square in the Greek town.

Next, we'll visit the Korgialenio Historical and Cultural Museum. Here we'll discover fascinating exhibits depicting local folklore and the history of the island from the 16th century until 1953, when an earthquake destroyed a large part of Kefalonia.

We'll then walk along the Lithostroto, a charming pedestrianised shopping street. We'll take the opportunity to browse the boutiques lining the street and taste some of Kefalonia's traditional sweets. Delicious!

Afterwards, we'll return to the coast to admire the famous De Bosset Bridge, a viaduct built in 1813 over the bay of Argostoli. At almost 700 metres, it is the longest stone bridge over the sea in the world!

Finally, we'll stop at a seaside restaurant for a traditional snack while watching the friendly loggerhead sea turtles that inhabit Argostoli harbour.

We'll end our guided tour of Argostoli back at the starting point at 2 pm.
