Travel back to the 1940s in Gibraltar with this Second World War Tunnels Tour. You'll discover the great strategic importance that this small British territory held.
Second World War Tunnels Tour
We'll meet at 10 am at 3 Queensway Road and take a bus to the south of Gibraltar, specifically to Punta Europa. There will be a brief stop at this lookout point, to view the outline of the African coast and take a closer look at the Trinidad Lighthouse.
The tour will then continue to the World War II tunnels. The strategic importance of Gibraltar due to its geographical position is one of the most outstanding factors of this English city. We'll explore the labyrinths carved into the rock that was used during the conflict to defend the Rock.
The guide will help us get to know the underground city, as well as all the stories it holds inside. In addition, we'll see the photographs on display that show everything that happened in these tunnels. You'll be surprised!
Next, we'll take a short panoramic bus tour of the Rock Nature Reserve, the Moorish Castle and the Tower of Homage. The tour will end returning to the centre of Gibraltar at approximately 11:45 am.
