Learn all about the mining past of Inner Baja California Sur on this tour to El Triunfo and Laventa Ranch from Los Cabos. You'll even explore an old mininf tunnel.
El Triunfo and Laventa Ranch Tour
Between 6.10 and 7.40 am we'll come to pick you up from your hotel in Los Cabos and set off to see some of the most unique sites in the Baja California Sur region.
First, we'll make a brief stop at the Tropic of Cancer to get a close-up view of the point where the imaginary line diving the northern and the southern hemisphere would be. We'll continue our trip to San Bartolo, where you'll have free time for breakfast.
We'll keep driving until we reach El Triunfo, our next destination. When we approach, we'll be able to see two imposing chimneys: La Julieta and La Ramona, a remnant of the mining past of this town. Next, we'll venture into the depths of the tunnel of the Souls, a 3-kilometer long cavity that was used as a way to transport gold and silver from within the mine.
After going back to the surface, we'll take a guided tour of the Ruta de la Plata Museum, which houses a very interesting exhibition of minerals, sculptures, murals, and even a Victorian tea room. Once our museum tour is finished, you'll have an hour of free time to do some shopping and try the local food.
Then we'll hop back on the minibus and head to the Laventa Ranch, an old hacienda that last century served as a boarding house for travelers. The house is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, cacti, mesquites, etc. If you wish, here you'll be able to taste delicious artisanal wine.
Lastly, we'll head back to Los Cabos and drop you off between 2.30 and 4 pm.
