Cancun is a paradise for any nature lover thanks to the variety of exotic birds that inhabit its magical jungle. You can discover it for yourself when you visit Reserva Nativa!
Birdwatching Tour in Reserva Nativa
At 6 am as the first rays of the morning sun light up the sky over the Riviera Maya, we will collect you from your hotel and head to Cancun, where you will encounter one of the most important nature reserves in the country: Reserva Nativa. In this grand jungle enclosure on the Yucatan peninsula, you will have the chance to see hundreds of birds from all around the world.
In keeping with local Indian tradition, we will perform a welcome ritual to ask for permission and protection from the Mayan gods. Then we will get equipped with the binoculars, the walking stick, and all the necessary equipment, before heading into the jungle in complete silence in order to not frighten away the sleeping birds.
During the walk, we will encounter quails, ocellated turkeys, and cardinals, all with colorful feathers. You can also see toucans, hummingbirds, and tropical doves, in mid-flight. This is an unmissable experience!
For a general view of the animal life of the jungle, we will climb up to the observation deck of Reserva Nativa and enjoy some breath-taking panoramic views. Then, we will head to the park’s museum to learn more about the origin and features of these creatures.
The best, of course, is saved for last: a refreshing dip in the pool of Reserva Nativa and a delicious breakfast in the main palapa building. These are unforgettable memories to take home!
The tour will end back at the hotel at 1 pm.
