Why visit the DDR Museum?

The DDR Museum is one of the most curious and peculiar exhibitions of the German capital. Located very close to the Berlin Cathedral, this museum reviews the history of the extinct German Democratic Republic in a totally interactive way. An unmissable visit!

The DDR Museum presents itself as a 'hands-on experience of history.' Visitors are invited to open drawers and cabinets and interact with different historical objects to better understand the culture and everyday life during the time of the German Democratic Republic.

You'll travel back to the Cold War era to remember how the Berlin Wall was erected to keep the GDR isolated from the rest of Western Europe. A time when the Ministry for State Security, better known as the Stasi, monitored and transmitted confidential information to the Soviet KGB. Discover this and many other interesting facts as you walk through the different rooms of the exhibition.
