Daytime cruise

During the one-hour journey you will explore the historical centre of York from the River Ouse. The capitan of the boat will offer you extensive commentary in English on the monuments you navigate past during the journey. These include the famous Skeldergate Bridge, the County Court House and Clifford Tower, the remaining vestige of the ancient castle.

From the boat's observation deck you can also observe the towers of York Cathedral, one of the most outstanding examples of Gothic architecture in the north of England. The tour will end at the starting point.

Departure points and times

To enjoy the daytime cruise of York you can board the boat at either of these two piers. The cruise departs every day at the following times:

  • King's Staith Landing: 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm.
  • Lendal Bridge Landing: 10:40am, 12:10pm, 1:40pm, 3:10pm.

Early evening cruise

This tour along the River Ouse in the evening follows the same route as the daytime cruise. The one-hour journey reveals York illuminated at dusk. The English-language commentary provided by the boat's capitan gives you a detailed history of the city and its top landmarks. The cruise ends at the same point as it started.

Departure points and times

  • The evening cruise has daily departures at 7:30pm from the King’s Staith Landing.
  • Between 13 and 23 November, and 16 February to 31 Martch, the boat will depart at 6 pm daily.
