Stroll to the Concatedral de San Nicolás de Bari (Co-Cathedral of St Nicholas of Bari), which was built on the ruins of an ancient mosque. After discovering its fascinating past, continue the walk along Calle Mayor and Calle Villavieja until you get to the Santa Maria Basilica, Alicante’s oldest religious building, full of interesting stories.
Then, explore the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, one of the most picturesque of this vibrant seaside town. As you wander through the streets, you’ll get a glimpse of the Santa Barbara Castle perched on top of Mount Benacantil. Your guide will reveal its history, currently one of the country’s largest fortresses.

- You will only visit the interior of monuments that are free to visit. Otherwise, you will only visit the outside.
- The route is not very accessible by wheelchair or pram due to the sections of ramps and stairs in the historic centre.
